A leading model of her generation, Elle Macpherson has revealed that she secretly battled breast cancer seven years ago.
“It was a shock, it was unexpected, it was confusing, it was intimidating in many ways.” This Monday, September 2, Elle Macpherson delivered a moving testimony in the columns of the magazine “Women’s Weekly”, but also in her latest book called “Elle”. And for good reason. Originally from Australia, the leading model of her generation lifts the veil on a very personal part of her life: her state of health. Indeed, after seven years of silence, she reveals that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“The hardest thing I’ve ever done”
Elle Macpherson says: “It really gave me the opportunity to dig deep into my inner being and find a solution that worked for me… I realised that I was going to need my own truth, my own belief system to help me through this.” To do this, the model made the decision to refuse traditional medicine to treat herself, despite doctors’ recommendations to have a mastectomy with radiation and chemotherapy.
