Cabral Libii, President of PCRN, Wins Court Victory Against Robert Kona

Opposition member Cabral Libii, MP and president of the PCRN, the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation, won a clear victory in court against Robert Kona, one of the co-founders of the PCRN, who contests his status as president of the party. A legal outcome that opens the way for him to potentially run in the next presidential election in October 2025.

It was following several disagreements that Robert Kona, co-founder and former president of the PCRN, seized the Kaélé court of first instance last January to obtain the annulment of the congress which had brought Cabral Libii to the presidency of the party in May 2019.

Robert Kona called this congress irregular, and has since tried to regain control of this political apparatus thanks to which Cabral Libii became a deputy and one of the most important figures on the Cameroonian political scene.

The presidential election in sight

Robert Kona’s action having been dismissed by the courts, Cabral Libii finds himself strengthened in his position, at the same time as he sees his horizon clearing, in the perspective of the presidential election expected for October 2025.
