Andrii Sybiha, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of theUkraineurged kyiv’s allies on Sunday to use their air defense systems to shoot down Russian drones and missiles in Ukrainian airspace. The minister called on them to “ a bold collective decision. »

The request follows the violation of airspace by Russian drones in Romania and in Latviatwo NATO member countries. A drone briefly entered Romanian airspace and reportedly struck a non-residential area near the Ukrainian border before heading east again on Saturday night, the latest in a series of incidents.

Another drone crashed in Latvia, where President Edgars Rynkevics called for a collective response to such incidents, stressing that their number was increasing on NATO’s eastern flank.

The violations came as Russia intensified its deadly attacks on Ukraine, killing nearly 90 people in a week across the country, including 58 in Poltava last Tuesday and seven in Lviv, in the west of the country, the following day.
