AAfter Antoine Dupont and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot for the Olympic Games, it is Aurélie Aubert and Tanguy de La Forest who will be the flag bearers of the French delegation during the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, this Sunday, September 8 at the Stade de France, starting at 8:30 p.m.

The announcement was made by Marie-Amélie Le Fur, the president of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee. For the latter, it is “a complementary duo in their experience and expertise of the Games”. “These are two athletes who have transported us with their emotions, their words, each in their own way”, she declared.

Three medals between them

With her title, Aurélie Aubert became the first French woman to win a medal in boccia, a discipline similar to pétanque that only exists at the Paralympic Games. Her performance and her very expressive explosion of joy touched millions of French people. “For me, it’s a great honor, I hope it will bring others and that it will allow other athletes to discover boccia. I just understood that I am a Paralympic champion. Before, I didn’t realize it,” she explained to Point after his gold medal.
