Kate Middleton breaks silence with rare social media post

News from Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales, who has been very discreet since the announcement of her cancer last March, broke her silence on Friday, September 6. The wife of Prince William published a personal message on social networks to congratulate the new Chief Scout of the United Kingdom, Dwayne Fields.

“I am thrilled to welcome Dwayne Fields,” she wrote on the X account (ex-Twitter) that she shares with her husband.

“The Scouts are such a wonderful organization,” she continued. “They teach lifelong skills and make a huge difference in the lives of young people all across the country.” She concluded, “I look forward to working with you!” and signed her name with a “C,” the initial of her first name, Catherine, to indicate that the message came from her.

Far from the public sphere

Kate Middleton, 42, is personally involved in the life of the Scouts of the United Kingdom: the princess became co-president of the organization in 2020, alongside Prince Edward – the Duke of Kent, cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Kate Middleton, much loved by the British, withdrew from the public sphere and her royal engagements after the announcement of her cancer, last March, the nature of which has not been revealed. At the end of March, she announced that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy.

Since then, each of her rare appearances has created an event. The first took place in June, on the occasion of the Trooping The Colour celebrations. Since then, we have seen her at Wimbledon, in a video to congratulate the British athletes of the Olympic Games and, at the end of August, during an outing of the royal family in Scotland.
