The Bleuets mosque in Marseille ordered to remove Imam Ismail or face closure within five days

INFO LE FIGARO – In a letter addressed this Wednesday to the Bleuets association, the police prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône ordered the representatives of the mosque to remove Imam Smaïn Bendjilali from the building, making its reopening conditional on the departure of the cleric.

The announcement of the planned administrative closure of the Bleuets mosque had been widely discussed in Marseille. The doors of the building could well be closed by the end of the week. In a letter addressed this Wednesday to the president of the Bleuets association that The Figaro was able to consult, the police prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône confirms that the survival of the building is now conditional on the dismissal of Imam Smaïn Bendjilali.

The cleric, in the sights of the Ministry of the Interior for several weeks because of his sermons and remarks “legitimizing violence”now has five days to leave his position at the Bleuets mosque. In the event of refusal, the State services will proceed to the pure and simple closure of the premises at the end of this period.
