The vials of ketamine, worth $12, were sold to the star for up to $2,000. “I wonder how much this moron is going to pay,” Dr. Plasencia wrote in a text message unearthed by the investigation in September 2023.

The doctors allegedly illegally supplied Matthew Perry with about 20 vials of ketamine in exchange for $55,000 in cash over the course of just two months, according to Martin Estrada.

Matthew Perry died in his hot tub in October 2023. He had long struggled with addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol. Five people in total have been prosecuted in connection with his death, including his personal assistant.
