A storm in the middle of August and a new record. The weather forecast announced gusts of up to 75 km/h at most, but the wind blew stronger than expected.
This Wednesday, August 2, 2023a powerful gust of wind was recorded at 89km/h, according to the head of the Météo Bretagne site. A speed unpublished for August. The previous record dated from August 9, 2019 with a gust of wind recorded at 85km / h.
As a reminder, our department remains placed in yellow vigilance “wind” and in orange vigilance “waves subermesion” at the level of the coast. Beyond Ille-et-Vilaine, the winds blew over 110 km/h in certain places in Brittany, such as on theisland of Groix.
What to do in case of yellow vigilance
Yellow vigilance involves following certain instructions:
