Geneva is getting ready to vibrate to the rhythm of techno. This Saturday afternoon, a line of musical floats will set off to circle the harbour. The party will last until late at night, with several DJs who will set the mood at the end of the Gustave-Ador quay.
This big party will have an effect on traffic. From 12 p.m., the perimeter of the lake will be closed to traffic, as well as the Mont-Blanc bridge. Many bus stops will not be served. On the Right Bank, no TPG vehicle will stop at the De-Chateaubriand, Gautier, Navigation, Monthoux, Alpes, Chantepoulet and Mont-Blanc stops.
On the Left Bank, buses will not stop at Rue du Lac, Vollandes, Merle-d’Aubigné, Parc des Eaux-Vives and Genève Plage. Most buses using the Mont-Blanc bridge will be diverted via Bel-Air.
It will still be possible to cross the harbor by boat. The Geneva seagulls will circulate according to their usual schedule. Party-goers living outside the city can take the Noctambus to return home, as these will run until late at night. Be careful though: they will suffer the same disturbances as the daytime buses.
Beyond the closed-to-traffic zone, delays and traffic jams are to be expected across much of the city. The return to normal will take place this Sunday, around 6 am.
