works and investments in three colleges for the start of the school year

Three colleges in the Hautes-Alpes have taken advantage of the summer holiday period to carry out numerous renovation works. The amounts amount to several million euros.

More than a fresh coat of paint for the colleges of the Hautes-Alpes. The National Education establishments took advantage of the two months of summer vacation to carry out work and maintenance.

This period, which extends from July 5 to September 1, was the most favorable for carrying out these projects, according to the president of the department, Jean-Marie Bernard.

“The summer holidays make it possible to limit the nuisance for users – middle school students, their teachers and administrative staff – and therefore to carry out large-scale operations, particularly within the framework of the department’s multi-year investment plan,” he explained in a press release.

From 15 to 22 million euros invested

A total of 15.4, 18 and 22 million euros respectively were invested in the renovation of three colleges in the Hautes-Alpes.

“These are the Les Hauts-de-Plaine college in Laragne-Montéglin. The Alexandre Corréard college in Serres and the Centre college in Gap,” explains Maryvonne Grenier, vice-president of the Department responsible for Education, in the press release.

In Laragne-Montéglin, however, the end of the work is planned for the start of the 2025 school year with the restructuring of the Ceüze building, including the replacement of the boiler room, the low voltage general switchboard, the finalization of the curtain wall and work on the exterior joinery.
