This program, which is part of a dynamic of modernization and strengthening of public institutions, aims to initiate a broad reflection on the future of the Senegalese public service. It takes into account the expectations of citizens and development issues. Minister Olivier Boucal, during his inaugural speech, underlined the importance of this reform to improve the efficiency, transparency and proximity of public services to the populations.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a high-level panel. Where several experts shared their thoughts on the challenges and opportunities related to public service reform. Among the prestigious speakers, Professor Souleymane Bachir Diagne, philosopher took part in this discussion, offering an enlightened perspective on the reforms necessary to modernize public administration and make it more inclusive and accessible to all citizens.
National consultations, in the opinion of Minister Olivier Boucal, aim to bring together actors from all walks of life, government officials, experts, civil society and technical partners in order to develop concrete proposals adapted to the needs of Senegal today. According to Mr. Boucaal, the objective is to build “a more responsive, more efficient public service and closer to the daily concerns of the Senegalese”. The reform will take into account the digitalization of services, the simplification of administrative procedures and the training of public officials, in line with good governance standards.
