Gemini Live: Google AI pushes the limits of multimodal interaction

Google announced significant updates to Gemini, its conversational artificial intelligence, at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose. The new version, called Gemini Live, offers a range of tools that make AI more interactive, multimodal and convenient for Android users.

Gemini Live now allows you to:

  • Create presentations,
  • Receive audio comments,
  • Add images, files and YouTube videos to conversations.

These improvements make Gemini particularly useful for content creationthe brainstorming or to simplify complex subjects.

Other additions include:

  • Project Astra, which will allow you to share your screen and broadcast live videos via the Gemini application.
  • Circle to Search, an option that recognizes numbers, emails or URLs on the screen and allows you to use them instantly (call, send an email or visit a site).
  • Extensions to integrate Gemini with applications like YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail ou Spotifyas well as Samsung tools (Notes, Reminder, Clock).

For example, a user can request recipe ideas and save them directly to Samsung Notes or Google Keep.

In partnership with Samsung, Google introduced advanced accessibility features:

  • Bluetooth LE audio support on Galaxy S25 devices, providing personalized audio settings and optimized connection to hearing aids.
  • An integration of Gemini Nano, an AI model optimized for on-device tasks, that enriches image descriptions for people who are blind or visually impaired via TalkBack.

These new capabilities will gradually become available on other Android devices in the coming weeks, strengthening Google’s position in the field of conversational AI.
