A man aged around 45 died Tuesday in Rennes after his attack in a working-class district of the city, said public prosecutor Frédéric Teillet. “At this stage the link has not been made with drug trafficking,” he told AFP.
According to a source close to the case, he was beaten in the Blosne district south of Rennes around 6:15 p.m. by several people. On a plot surrounded by buildings, he was stabbed and had three wounds in his abdomen, according to the same source. It was a passerby who alerted the emergency services after seeing the injured man, specifies Actu 17. “I saw a man staggering and falling several times, I approached, he had blood everywhere,” recounted to Ouest-France a witness who called for help.
Despite the rapid intervention of the firefighters and the Samu, the victim died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The circumstances and motivations for this act remain to be determined. A murder investigation has been opened. This is the third stabbing murder in Rennes since the start of the year.
