As we reported to you yesterday, the NHL superstar was to receive a phone call from the Department of Player Safety following the violent blow he gave Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland to the face.
Just a few minutes ago, the Department of Player Safety announced through its account X that #97 had received a three-game suspension.
To put you in perspective, Canucks forward Conor Garland and superstar Connor McDavid were hung up on each other. McJesus did not appreciate his opponent’s gesture at all and served him a cross-check in the face. Rififi ensued.

Another player participating in this meeting also received a suspension. Giant Tyler Myers also received a three-part suspension for inflicting a cross-check in the face of Evan Bouchard.
-McDavid has found the back of the net 20 times this season and contributed 45 times to his teammates’ goals. Eight assists short of 700 career assists, his presence is essential to maximize the chances of winning a game for the Oilers.
McDavid should therefore make a return to play on January 27 when Kris Knoblauch’s squad hosts the Seattle Kraken.
