Without consultation
Ludivine Dedonder admitted to having made the decision alone and without consultation with her government partners. “In accordance with the work regulations, it is up to me, as Minister of Defense, to grant such an exemption. I submitted this request to an in-depth analysis before validating it.”
Alexander De Croo does not agree. “This instruction was not discussed within the government and will be brought before the Council of Ministers. The agreement is clear: a government in current affairs does not intervene in the negotiations of the future government. This instruction goes against this agreement.”
“This decision is not covered by a decision of the Council of Ministers. Mrs Dedonder therefore does not have the possibility of granting this. I reported this internally yesterday”confirmed to DH Deputy Prime Minister David Clarinval (MR), who spoke to the KERN on current affairs on Monday.
