Anderlecht and Genk wanted it: Club Brugge wins and holds its first winter transfer – The latest transfers

Le FC Bruges a lance son mercato. Vince Osuji is Blue & Black.

The name of Vince Osuji (18 years old) will perhaps say something to the most attentive followers of the transfer window and in particular of RSC Anderlecht. Indeed, the young Nigerian talent had been cited as one of Sporting’s targets to strengthen its defense this winter, in anticipation of the departure of Zanka and the repeated problems of Vertonghen.

KRC Genk, but also several big European cars were there. It was ultimately Club Brugge who won the jackpot and acquired the central defender from Kalmar FF, in Swedish D1. This is what is announced The Latest News this Monday evening.

The new Ordoñez?

FC Brugge would have spent more than 3 million euros for Osuji, estimated at 1.2 million on Transfer market. The Nigerian’s arrival in Belgium could have happened earlier this year already: Genk had in fact almost offered him a contract in the spring of 2024 but had changed their mind due to the player’s visa concerns, who had then joined Sweden.

It was therefore only a postponement for Vince Osuji to discover the Pro League, but it will be under the colors of FC Bruges. In the meantime, he will have played 16 matches with Kalmar, including 15 in Swedish D1.

Despite his young age, Osuji does not arrive a priori to strengthen Club NXT (even if it is not excluded that he will make his debut there to make his mark) but rather the A team. He should thus do office of future replacement for Joel Ordoñez, for whom Bruges should hit the jackpot fairly quickly.
