A month after their union celebrated in the prefecture of Dalaba, Boubacar Siddy Bah and Binta Bah seemed to live in cloudless love. However, happiness gave way to tragedy when an argument between the two spouses led to the man’s death, stabbed by his partner.
This drama took place on the night of January 17 to 18, 2025, in the Fofoméré district, in Kagbelen, commune of Conakry. According to Ibrahima Bah, brother of the victim, everything changed after an altercation. “My brother lived with his wife in Cimenterie Fofoméré. A neighbor called me to tell me that they had argued and that she had stabbed him in the thigh. They transported him to a local clinic before evacuating him to Ignace Deen hospital,” he says.
At the scene, doctors reported that the knife had hit several veins requiring surgery. Due to lack of sufficient financial resources, the operation was delayed, worsening Boubacar’s condition. Aware of the seriousness of the situation, Ibrahima wanted to see his brother one last time. “When they showed him to me, he was about to give up the ghost. A few minutes later, he was declared dead,” he confides with pain.
The tragedy plunged the family into deep distress. The mother, Aissatou Pathé Bah, inconsolable, mourns the loss of her son, while the father, Thierno Madjou Bah, resigns himself to divine will, affirming that “everything that the Most High does is good”. As for Binta Bah, she was arrested by the police and will have to answer for her actions in court.
