Man seriously injures woman in Gümligen and flees

A woman was attacked on Friday morning in an apartment in Gümligen (BE) by a man she knew, who used a sharp object. She is seriously injured. The individual was arrested after a manhunt.

The Bernese cantonal police were informed around 10:05 a.m. that a woman had been injured, they said late Saturday afternoon. The unfortunate woman was found in the apartment. After receiving first aid, she was taken to hospital.

According to initial findings, the man had attacked her shortly before with a sharp object. Searched for with the help of dogs, he was arrested shortly afterwards in Rüfenacht.
