A motorist dies after being beaten in Valencia, three people arrested

A motorist was violently attacked in Valence, in the Drôme, on Saturday evening, September 14. After being hit by another vehicle, he was beaten up and did not survive his injuries. Three people were arrested this Sunday.

According to our information, on Saturday evening, around 10:30 p.m., a man driving a Peugeot 307 chased another vehicle, a Clio, and deliberately hit it.

He then went to the hit car, pulled the occupant out of the vehicle and beat him up. The targeted man was punched and kicked in the face.

Police officers, present at the scene, intervened, but the man who had been attacked ultimately died of his injuries. The perpetrator managed to escape.

This Sunday, September 15, the Valencia public prosecutor announced to AFP the arrest of three people as part of a criminal investigation for “premeditated voluntary homicide” opened after the death of the motorist.

“Thanks to the use of the initial elements collected and urban video surveillance recordings”, three people were arrested and placed in police custody, the prosecutor told AFP without giving further details, particularly on the identity of the victim.

According to information from BFMTV, the victim was a 30-year-old man, known to the judicial affairs court, although it is not known in what context.

The attackers’ vehicle was found burned out in the town of Claveyson, located around thirty kilometres north of Valence, by the police.
