Since the departure of former President Macky Sall, audits of state control bodies have intensified. Two female figures from the Public Treasury, former Directors of General Administration and Equipment (DAGE), are targeted by accusations of money laundering and questionable financial management.
Investigations reveal payments for fictitious markets and serious irregularities in their management, reports L’Obs. One of them, singled out for insufficient justification, risks imminent arrest. The second is also blamed for management practices that increase costs.
The Financial Prosecutor’s Office, determined to eradicate impunity, continues its crusade to expose abuses in public accounting, thus marking a key step in the fight against embezzlement under the old regime.
