The criticism is starting to fall for Nicolas Jackson, because of his effectiveness in front of goal. After Tuesday’s draw against Bournemouth, the Senegalese striker received criticism from former Blues player Craig Burley, who believes that Jackson, despite his goals, is far from being Didier Drogba, a legend of the club.
Jackson has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season. In 20 Premier League matches, the striker has scored nine goals. However, he has lost his eye for goal in recent times, scoring just once in his last seven outings.
Assisting Cole Palmer’s goal, Jackson missed good chances in the draw with Bournemouth, and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley warned his former club’s supporters to ‘expect more of the same in the future.
“He’s doing well and he’s definitely had his moments this year, but we’ll see more of those misses that we saw from that header that was saved. We’ll see more of this than we will of the very good Nico Jackson.” warned the former Blues player.
He adds :“Nicolas Jackson has exceeded expectations this season, but that doesn’t make him the next Drogba. He’s a good player, but he’s not the solution for a team that aspires to win titles.”he concludes.
