Monday January 13, 2025, the president of the Pays de la Loire region came to La Roche-sur-Yon to present his wishes to the staff of the Edouard-Branly high school.
She had to face a union “welcome committee”. Around fifty demonstrators met in front of the high school entrance gate.
Volunteers from numerous associations and unions were present as well as individuals. To the slogans “Morançais, give back the money!” » came one after the other with bangs of pans and drums.
They were demonstrating their disagreement with recent decisions taken by the president of the Pays de la Loire region, in particular concerning budget cuts in the culture sector, but also sports associations and gender equality.
Dark cuts criticized across the entire Pays de la Loire region over the past two months.
Christelle Morançais brought forward her arrival and “only stayed in the establishment for around fifteen minutes”, according to witnesses on site, who therefore did not see the regional president.
