Adelboden: an 80-year-old skier falls and dies on the slope

The Adelboden ski resort was in mourning late Monday. A stone’s throw from the Chuenisbärgli slope, where the Ski World Cup races took place this weekend, a man lost his life after a fall. It was at the very end of the day, at 4:15 p.m., that the skier came across a marked trail. The person who accompanied him and several individuals present on site provided him with first aid and called the emergency services, indicates the Bernese cantonal police. Emergency services, including a Rega helicopter, were unable to do anything to save the man, an 80-year-old Swiss resident of Basel-City, who died on the spot.
