Despite his impressive experience and his legendary record, the Italian coach has never managed to win the same trophy two years in a row with Real Madrid.
The latest episode of this evil eye took place during the final of the Spanish Super Cup this Sunday, where Real Madrid was beaten by Barcelona (2-5) in Jeddah.
As pointed out OkDiariothis setback confirmed that the Italian coach still failed to defend a title acquired the previous season. This defeat calls into question Ancelotti who, in six seasons at the head of the club, has never managed to repeat a title from one year to the next.
Since his first spell in charge of Real Madrid, which ended in 2015, Ancelotti has never won the same trophy twice consecutively. After a 2014-2015 season without a title, he returned in 2021 to replace Zidane, and this time, the result was historic: a treble (Super Cup, La Liga and Champions League) during the 2021-2022 season.
