At the microphone of Sud Radio, the young woman refused to call herself “Charlie”. “I’m not saying anything” she replied to Valérie Expert and Gilles Ganzmann. Taken aback, the two journalists insisted. “Are you for freedom of speech?”relaunched Valérie Expert. “That is to say, do you think that in France we have the right to blasphemy?”supported Gilles Ganzmann. Faced with controversy, Angélique Angarni-Filopon admitted her awkwardness in a message posted on her Instagram account. “In my role as Miss France, I owe myself neutrality on certain subjects to avoid any misunderstanding and avoid causing any controversy.she recalled. But I understand that my non-reaction on such a sensitive subject could have sparked so many comments”she nevertheless conceded, adding: “Obviously it would be an aberration to think that I could condone such barbaric acts which leave families in mourning. Charlie Hebdo touches on profound issues and of course, freedom of expression is essential in France”.

And to conclude: “I strongly condemn these terrorist acts which are an attack on the fundamental values ​​of our society, in particular freedom, tolerance and respect.”

For his part, Charlie Hebdo did not hesitate to react. In the edition of Friday January 10, the cartoonist Juin caricatured the controversy with three Mullahs holding signs on which is written: “I am Miss France”, in reference to the slogan launched a few hours after the attack at the newspaper's headquarters satirical.

This Sunday, in the columns of Parisian Frédéric Gilbert, president of the Miss France Society, did not hide his concern. “This controversy is incredibly violent. She goes a little farhe lamented. There are people who may come across this drawing and not all of them have a sense of humor. I am worried for the safety of Miss France. This is a real question that I ask myself today. Everything is passionate”he added, affirming that no matter what Angélique Angarni-Filopon would have answered, “there would have been a controversy, many would have fallen on him”. “It takes a lot, it takes a lot since December 14. “Tapping so much hurts”he stressed.
