What happened? The accident occurred around 3 p.m. this Saturday on a route linking Berlin to the Polish city of Szczecin.
According to the German media Uckermark courierthe bus was traveling in a snowstorm when it was caught in a violent gust of wind. It then overturned on its side on the highway near the parking lot of a rest area: “At this entrance, the guardrails are open, which was obviously fatal to the bus”explained Police Commissioner Matthias Hannemann.
Windows were torn out and two passengers found themselves under the bus, which continued to slide, according to the police commissioner.
Unfortunately, help arrived too late for the two people stranded under the snow and could only note their death upon arrival. They are a 29-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man.

If nothing has been confirmed, with the wind, the bus would have been pushed to the right, hit the guardrail to the left of the access ramp to the rest area and crashed there like on a springboard before falling to the side, explains the police commissioner to Uckermark courier.
“The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known”indicated the Flixbus company in a press release.
