Christmas tree fire in Friborg

The fire, which broke out shortly after 11 p.m., quickly mobilized teams from the cantonal police and local firefighters.

According to initial information provided by the authorities, the Engagement and Alarm Center (CEA) was alerted to the fire, and the Friborg firefighters managed to bring the fire under control in record time. Investigations carried out on site revealed that the fire was caused by a candle placed on the tree.

The victim, injured in the face, was rushed to hospital. The two other occupants of the house were able to be relocated with neighbors.

For the moment, the material damage caused by this fire has not yet been estimated. This event serves as a reminder of the risks during end-of-year celebrations, particularly regarding the use of candles and other potentially dangerous decorations.

Authorities are encouraging people to exercise caution and ensure the safety of their facilities during the holiday season.
