A fatal accident occurred this Friday, January 10, on a level crossing located in the town of Domarin, in Isère. Traffic on the railway line linking Lyon-Grenoble and Lyon-Chambéry is interrupted in both directions, indicates the SNCF.

The events took place around 5 p.m. this Friday, January 10. A pedestrian was hit by a train in the town of Domarin, in Isère. The accident occurred on a level crossing located rue de la Maladière. The TER was traveling from Lyon towards Grenoble when it fatally struck a person.
-Dispatched to the scene, emergency services took care of the victim. The person, of undetermined age and sex, was declared dead by the SMUR doctor. The emergency services as well as the gendarmes and the specialized services of the SNCF are still at the scene of the accident.
293 people were on board the TER which collided with the pedestrian. None of the passengers or staff present were injured. But train traffic is interrupted between L’Isle-d’Abeau and Saint-André-le-Gaz.
Traffic on the Lyon-Grenoble and Lyon-Chambéry lines is therefore at a standstill in both directions of traffic. On its website, SNCF indicates that “THE Specialized teams are in the process of intervention“. A gradual resumption of traffic is “scheduled around 7:15 p.m.“.
