Thanks to France: Plea against a debt without provision by a booster shot to Paname!
Mr. President, Africans have not thanked you, or not enough, for having rid the Continent of “terrorism”! I don’t know if I have the scale, which I very much doubt, but I would like, in the name of all the “Africans liberated” by France from the clutches of terrorism and offered as expiatory victims to the jaws of the “Jiadhists” , say thank you for packing up, or for being in the process of doing so, while remembering, however, a few polite expressions that you forgot to return to Africa! You forgot to say thank you to the “tirailleurs” for having participated in saving France from the “Lieber Straume” promised by a man with a legendary mustache!
You forgot for a long time, to make amends for your grandfathers, when they “whitened” the fighters on the outskirts of Paris, too black for their taste for the final parade and massacred their brothers in arms in Thiaroye for a handful francs! You forgot to say thank you to Equatorial Africa, for opening your arms to “Free France” in Brazzaville when, without a fixed address, it scoured the oceans in search of a foot on land!
You also forgot to say thank you to Niger for lighting up France from Arlit, itself plunged into darkness! You forgot to say thank you to the 2,400 soldiers of “Operation Fatim” (Chadian Armed Forces in Mali) when the Chadian fighters, having attacked the Jiadhists entrenched in the Amatetai valley, difficult to access, in Kidal and Gao, to reduce resistance in the depth have facilitated the raking operations of “Serval”!
It is a multitude of thanks, of which I have only cited the most blatant, that you forgot to present to Africa which gave everything to France, at the price of its own survival and that of its sons, May I please, if necessary, to call you back! Moreover, the need for security cannot redeem this imperative of sovereignty, which blows over your former preserve! This one was a good school, to learn from you, that one could reject one’s liberator in the name of sovereignty!
Indeed, in 1958, did you not ask the American liberators who had landed in Normandy and Provence to pack up, despite the need to face the specter of nuclear destruction rumbling from the East? Thus adorned with your sovereignty, like bronze armor, you were able to face the risks inherent in the “cold war”!
-In doing so, you were able to reorganize your defense around “nuclear sufficiency” through a “dissuasion” carried by the Triad, Nuclear Submarine Launch Vehicles (S NLE), Strategic Ocean Force (Fost) and Strategic Air Force (Fas) . Thus today, France is the only nuclear power in the European Union, because “not wanting to depend on anyone since its survival could be called into question by an adversary”.
In the name of this sovereignty, you have also withdrawn from NATO’s Integrated Allied Command, to maintain your freedom of action and your independence in the choice of the use of your military capabilities! Did the Americans demand thanks and bows from you?
I very much doubt it since in 1961, President Kennedy made a historic official visit to France with Jacqueline, having put Paris at his feet, welcomed with great fanfare by the “sovereignist” De Gaulle, even before launching his famous “Ich bin ein Berliner” in 1963 in the former capital of the divided 3rd Reich!
This American fair play in the face of De Gaulle should have inspired you in the face of Africans demanding only the right to “dissolve the political ties which have attached them to another, and to take among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle him” dixit Thomas Jefferson (The Declaration of Independence)!
So after this plea, I dare to hope that you will accept this right for us, without demanding undue thanks “without provision”, while agreeing to make honorable amends for everything that your country has done to the Continent!
Ultimately you will do no less than America, which liberated France, supported by the blood of Africans, shed with the sound of cannons, by accepting in good faith, our
choice of sovereignty clearly expressed by our leaders. We may one day, with mutual respect, make the sovereign choice to dance or not, together, to the sounds of the violins!
