Cellou Dalein Diallo denounces a “judicial farce”

The opponent Cellou Dalein Diallo reacted strongly to the sentencing of the president of Model, Aliou Bah, to two years in prison. The former Guinean Prime Minister criticized this decision, which he describes as a “judicial farce”.
“I denounce the judicial farce which played out this Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the Kaloum Court of First Instance. On the basis of accusations as grotesque as they are worrying, the President of Model, Aliou BAH, was sentenced to two years in prison for insulting the Head of State,” wrote on Facebook, the leader of the Union of the Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG).
According to Cellou Dalein, Aliou Bah exercised a fundamental right in a country where freedoms are slowly dying.
“Denounce the authoritarian abuses and systematic attacks on human rights perpetrated by a junta drunk on power. This absurd sentence, worthy of the most liberticidal regimes, cannot be interpreted other than as a declaration of open war against freedom of expression and an attempt at intimidation orchestrated to reduce all opposition to silence,” castigated the former Prime Minister. minister.
According to him, “this revolting verdict marks a disastrous day for democracy, freedoms and human rights in Guinea”. “It is added to the long list of authoritarian and liberticidal acts of a power ready to do anything to silence all dissonant voices,” said the President of the UFDG.
However, Mr. Diallo condemns with the greatest firmness this “judicial charade and demands the immediate and unconditional release of the President of Model”.
“The Guinean people will not allow themselves to be reduced to silence by the judicial terror of a junta in dire straits,” concluded the Guinean opponent.
