Nepotism at COUD
It smacks of nepotism at the Center for University Works in Dakar (COUD) where Director General Ndéné Mbodji replaced El Hadji Mamadou Baldé with his friend Djidiack Faye in the strategic position of director of university restaurants. But the irony in all this, our source points out, is that El Hadji Mamadou Baldé, known for his qualities and his academic training, becomes the advisor to the DG in catering. A position which, according to our interlocutor, has just been created for the first time in the hierarchical architecture of COUD. In fact, he explains, it is as if we were creating the position of vice-president cumulatively with the position of Prime Minister. Otherwise, Djidiack Faye is only there for form but it is Baldé who manages the operational aspects of the restaurants.

Objectives will now be set for hospital directors
The Minister of Health, on tour in the south of the country, went to the Kolda regional hospital to discuss the challenges encountered with workers and present concrete measures to improve the quality of care and the management of health structures. Dr Ibrahima Sy announced the establishment of performance contracts with hospitals, in order to increase subsidies for establishments which record significant results. This initiative aims, he says, to encourage effective management and better patient care. He announced a recruitment program for medical and paramedical personnel to compensate for the lack of human resources, particularly in the most remote regions. According to the Minister of Health, this measure is part of a global strategy aimed at strengthening the capacities of hospitals and guaranteeing equitable access to care. The minister insisted on the importance of setting clear objectives for hospital directors, with management contracts focused on results. According to him, if progress is not noted after two years, changes in leadership will be considered to ensure the performance of the establishments. Identity theft
S. Tine has guts. He is presumed to be a forger who grabbed other people’s land. Better still, to make himself credible, he was even ready to file a complaint against the real owners of the said land. But his criminal enterprise was exposed by Dscos. Hence his appearance yesterday before the Pikine-Guédiawaye flagrante delicto bar for fraud. Indeed, it appears from the hearing proceedings that the accused was arrested by the Dscos. The fraudster used false deliberations and false national identity cards to appropriate plots which were between Keur Massar and Mbao. Worse, the accused had the audacity to file a complaint against the real owners of the land who often did not have enough means to defend themselves. But his actions were stopped thanks to the DSCOS, following numerous complaints and denunciations, some of which were filed by the accused himself. He was imprisoned. In court, he tried to deny the facts. Despite everything, he was sentenced to six months in prison.
