Significant injury for Matias Fernandez-Pardo, consequences on the transfer window for LOSC

Forced to give up his place during the reception of FC (1-1) last Saturday, Matias Fernandez-Pardo will be absent for many weeks. LOSC made the nature of his injury official this Monday and is active on the market.

In the fight to remain in the elite of French football, FC Nantes defended its skin dearly on the pitch of the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy last Saturday and started the match with a muscular game. Aligned on the right wing, Matias Fernandez-Pardo (19) paid the price and was forced to give up his place (10′) following a collision with Nicolas Cozza. The Belgian was immediately replaced by Osame Sahraoui, while the two teams ended up neutralizing each other (1-1).

At the final whistle, Bruno Genesio didn't really have any more details to give about himself:
“I haven't had time to check with the doctor yet. I don't yet know exactly the nature of his injury. I know he took a hit to the ankle and the ankle was twisted. He tried to continue, but it was too difficult for him.”he was content to confide at a press conference.

The situation changed this Monday, with much less encouraging news. LOSC announced, through a press release, that Matias Fernandez-Pardo was suffering “from a ligament rupture of the left ankle”he specifies. This injury will result in unavailability of several weeks, possibly more than two months depending on the severity of the case, and adds to the uncertainty surrounding Edon Zhegrova. These two situations force the hand of leaders, more active than before on the transfer market, particularly with regard to the winger position. The trend is no longer towards wait-and-see, but towards action.
