Arab countries condemn deadly car-ramming attack in New

Several Arab countries have condemned the deadly car-ramming attack which left several people dead and injured in New , United States, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A white Ford F-150 pickup truck plowed through the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter around 3:15 a.m. (0915 GMT) Wednesday, killing at least 15 people and injuring more than 30 others.

The FBI identified the assailant as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old Texan, U.S. citizen and Army veteran.

In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed solidarity with the United States and offered condolences to the families of the victims.

The ministry also clarified that Egypt rejects all forms of violence that threaten the security and safety of civilians.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack, stressing that the kingdom “reiterates its total rejection of all forms of violence.”

Condemning the incident, the Qatari Foreign Ministry also reaffirmed the country’s strong stance against all forms of violence, terrorism and criminal acts, regardless of their motivation.

Iraq strongly condemned the car-ramming attack and expressed solidarity with the American people.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry also expressed the kingdom’s “sincere condolences” to the families of the victims and to the government and people of the United States.

He also underlined Bahrain’s “firm stance and rejection of acts of violence and terrorism in all their forms and manifestations, regardless of their motives or justifications.”

Jordan also joined Arab countries in condemning the “terrorist attack” in New Orleans, reaffirming, according to a statement from its Foreign Ministry, the rejection “of all forms of terrorism and violence aimed at undermine security and stability.”
