Thierno Alassane SALL denounces a budgetary paradox within the National Assembly

The National Assembly is considering the draft Amending Finance Law (LFR) for the year 2025. During his speech, the non-registered deputy Thierno Alassane SALL, also leader of the Republic of Values movement, highlighted notable inconsistencies in current budgetary management, highlighting a “paradox” between the announced rationalization and the maintenance of useless agencies.

“We are seeing a budget deficit which essentially serves to subsidize consumption. This deficit is so important that, paradoxically, you maintain a bloated administrative nomenclature, made up of agencies which are of no use,” denounced SALL. This inconsistency, according to him, contributes to further widening the deficit while fueling an administrative structure considered excessive.

The MP specified that the financing needs to cover this deficit reach nearly 4,491 billion CFA, an amount well above the expected budget revenues. “For the first time, external financing exceeds budget revenues,” he warned, thus highlighting an alarming situation which calls for rapid action.

Thierno Alassane SALL concludes his speech by calling for immediate action: “It is imperative to do something here and now, without postponing decisions until later. » His intervention raises crucial questions about the viability of the current fiscal framework and the effectiveness of government agencies, prompting decision-makers to reconsider their priorities in the face of a difficult economic situation.
