Macron gains two points (30%), Barnier at 34% favorable opinions

Emmanuel Macron gains two points compared to June with 30% favorable opinions, according to an Ipsos poll for The Sunday Tribune which sees the new Prime Minister Michel Barnier start with a third of favorable opinions.

64% of respondents also believe that the President of the Republic, by appointing Michel Barnier to Matignon, did not take into account the result of the legislative elections. Only those surveyed claiming to be from the presidential camp and the right are mostly of the opposite opinion.

Appointed on September 5, Michel Barnier records 34% of favorable opinions. There are “a third of those surveyed were in favour of him, a third against and a third who did not express an opinion, either because they did not know him or because they were waiting.”explains Brice Teinturier, deputy general director of Ipsos, in the columns of The Sunday Tribune.

Michel Barnier enjoys 64% favorable opinions among supporters of the Republicans and those of the Macronist camp. Rating falling to 29% for supporters of the National Rally and the Socialist Party and to 18-19% among those of La France Insoumise and the Ecologists. Survey conducted on a sample of 1000 people representative of the French population, aged 18 and over, questioned from September 11 to 13 (quota method).
