First tension between Donald Trump and Elon Musk? “He was not born in this country”

“In the interest of national freedom”: Donald Trump still has views on Greenland which he would like to buy back

After money (Musk recently became the richest man in the world with a fortune of $348 billion, Editor's note), it is power that now seems to interest Elon Musk. The latter indeed has a strong influence with the new elected President. But this “displayed” influence could play tricks on him since many Democrats nickname him “President Musk”. A joke that does not please Donald Trump, who does not hesitate to cut off all the hopes of the boss of X.

After thanking Elon Musk for the development of Starlink, Donald Trump sets things straight. “No he will not be president, I can tell you that. And I'm calm, you know why? Because he was not born in this country. Hahaha!” declared the Republican in a dry tone this Sunday, December 22 during a meeting in Phoenix before laughing.

According to the American Constitution, to be eligible, the President of the United States must be born on American soil, which is not the case for Elon Musk, who although he was naturalized American, was born in Africa South. For several years, Donald Trump had fueled rumors regarding the birthplace of Barack Obama. Although born to an American mother and a Kenyan father in the state of Hawaii, the first black President of the United States was accused by certain political adversaries of being born in Kenya. Absurd accusations that Donald Trump ended up abandoning: “President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period“, he concluded.

Following his statement, Trump assures that Musk is not “regain the presidency but that he loves “be accompanied by intelligent people”. A little update shared by Elon Musk on X.
