It's a spectacular breakage which took place this Monday, December 23, 2024, in the Izards district in Toulouse.

According to information from La Dépêche du MidithatToulouse News is able to confirm, criminals have done blow up the back door of a post office. They were able to access a bank ATM to steal 470 000 euros.

A recently renovated post office

According to our information, the explosion took place around 6:20 a.m. this Monday morning. At this early hour, the post office, which had recently been renovated, was fortunately unoccupied.

470,000 euros stolen

The explosives were in fact placed against the door which provides access to where the ATM funds are deposited. According to our information, several individuals then fled in two cars, taking 470,000 euros.

According to a witness present on site, many local residents have heard the explosion in the early morning.

Police experts were mobilized in the morning. There judicial police was still on the scene in the middle of the day, as our journalist on site was able to observe. A security guard is currently positioned in front of the post office.

La Poste files a complaint

Contacted by Toulouse Newsthe Post Office services – which make it a rule never to give the amounts of sums stolen from their establishments – indicate that the Izards Post Office is closed “until further notice” and that “everything is being done to ensure that it reopens quickly”. A complaint is “imminent”.
