This Sunday morning, around 8 a.m., a 39-year-old motorist was driving on the A12 motorway from Châtel-Saint-Denis (FR) towards Bulle. Near Semsales, he lost control of his car due to the wet road and hit the car in front of him.
Following the impact, this second vehicle ended up on its roof in a field along the highway. Its driver, aged 46, was injured and transported to hospital by ambulance. The first vehicle stopped approximately 100 meters away in the same field. Its driver and passenger, aged 25, were also injured and taken to hospital by ambulance.
The Intercantonal Road Network Maintenance Service (SIERA) was hired to rehabilitate the highway infrastructure. The right lane of the highway had to be closed for an hour and a half. Investigations are underway to establish the exact circumstances of this accident. “On wet roads, you should exercise caution, reduce your speed and maintain a sufficient distance between vehicles,” recalls the Friborg police in its press release.
