The Association of Former Students of Lycée Blaise Diagne in Dakar (Promo Lbd) offered 300 pairs of glasses to visually impaired students of the establishment. The handover ceremony took place on December 19, informs the deputy secretary general of the association, Abou Mbow, in a press release which reached us yesterday. This donation, he said, was made possible thanks to Promo Lbd's partner, the Lions Club International. He called for a synergy of actions to enable students to prepare well for the Baccalaureate exam. On this subject, Mr. Mbow indicated, in the source, that the association will help the establishment in the methodologies of didactic approaches. Retired teachers will also strengthen the existing teaching team. “Lions club is a humanitarian organization that helps those most in need. She acts in different areas, notably vision problems which justify our presence in this establishment. For two years, we have been doing this action in favor of students,” argued Charles Médor, representing the structure in Dakar, in the document.
Quoted in the same source, Lotha Dieng, principal of Lycée Blaise Diagne, did not fail to thank the donors. She took the opportunity to ask the alumni of the establishment to invest more in the supervision of their cadets, particularly those who are in exam classes. The principal of the Blaise Diagne high school recalls that the establishment had a success rate of 68% for the Baccalaureate in 2024 and that the objective in 2025 is to reach 80%.
