They tried to evict him from the pavilion he occupied illegally: the squatter grabbed a sword, one died and one was seriously injured

A man was killed and a second seriously injured in the night from Friday to Saturday after receiving saber blows from a squatter whom they were trying to evict from a house in Palaiseau (Essonne), AFP learned from concordant sources. The prosecution opened an investigation into intentional homicide, attempted intentional homicide and aggravated violence, entrusted to the Territorial Crime Division of the Essonne police.

According to the public prosecutor, three men entered the house where the suspect was staying at night after breaking down the door. These men are employees of a business manager who recently purchased the accommodation where the scene took place, said the police source.

Struck with sabers

This boss went to the pavilion on Friday afternoon to ask the son of the former owners to leave the premises he was illegally occupying, said the same source. During the evening, the business manager organized a meal in his company's offices, after which three of his employees, in a drunken state, took the initiative to forcibly exfiltrate the squatter.

They went there by car, broke the front door and broke down the door to the occupant's bedroom, located on the first floor, before beating him while he was sleeping. The latter then grabbed a standard saber and struck two of his attackers in the abdomen. The first died on the spot, the second, seriously injured, managed to escape with difficulty, while the third quickly escaped from the accommodation and called the police.

In a coma

At the scene, agents from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) noted the death of one of the attackers. The seriously injured man was treated by firefighters and transported, in a coma, to the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital (Val-de-Marne). The attacker, who was not injured, and the occupant of the accommodation were placed in police custody, the prosecution said. They are both in their forties.

According to the police source, the business manager was also taken into custody. “Investigations are underway to clarify the course of events and the intentions of the various protagonists”added the public prosecutor, who specifies that an autopsy of the deceased victim will be quickly carried out.
