Ségolène Royal lets loose against François Bayrou

Invited to debate the composition of the government which is getting bogged down, the former presidential candidate attacked the Prime Minister. “I believe in work,” she said on BFMTV.

Ségolène Royal has a sense of formula and provocation. Invited to debate on the stagnation of the formation of the government, the former presidential candidate let loose against François Bayrou, with whom she had debated in 2007 between the two rounds. “Has he worked enough when he has been preparing for years to be Prime Minister? He is not capable of putting one or two orientations on the table […] Politics is built in movement,” she began.

While she defended abandoning 49.3 to avoid any risk of censorship, the former Minister of the Environment regretted that the composition of the government was not moving forward. “ can have a budget if it is worked on. I believe in work. We are dealing with lazy people. Where are the projects? It’s extravagant, it’s been going on for weeks. Everything is built through work, effort, dialogue. You need a list of savings to make. There is an emergency on prices,” said Ségolène Royal on BFMTV. She declared herself available to join the government. “It depends on what to do,” she says.

A government before Christmas

After a new meeting led by Prime Minister François Bayrou, we can’t see any clearer. Left-wing forces are still threatening to censor the future government and the Republicans are procrastinating over their participation. The Béarnais promises a government “before Christmas”.
