Quebec has decided to extend the distribution of government checks until January 3, 2025 in the face of mail processing delays caused by the Canada Post strike.

The Quebecers concerned will be able to continue to recover their benefit in the 150 distribution locations, including the 128 Services Québec offices.

“It is also possible to communicate directly with Services Québec by telephone at 1 877 644-4545. During the holiday period, the Services Québec offices will be open on December 23, 27 and 30, 2024 as well as January 3, 2025,” it is specified.
For those who cannot travel, it will be possible to appoint another person to do the collection. This person must nevertheless be aged 18 and over and must be in possession of a power of attorney signed by both parties.
The government reminds that it is also possible to register for the direct deposit service.
