Chelsea – Shamrock Rovers highlights — Chelsea beat Shamrock Rovers 5-1 at Stamford Bridge in matchday six of the first phase of the 2024/25 Europa Conference League. The Blues overwhelm the Irish and finish the phase with full points and first in the standings. The match broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute with Marc Guiu’s header into an empty net after a sensational error by the Shamrock defence. However, three minutes pass and Poom finds the equalizer with a great shot from distance which also finds a decisive deflection. Guiu took advantage of another error from the Hoops defense in the 35th minute and scored a brace. Dewsbury-Hall found the Blues’ third goal in the 40th minute by exploiting Nkunku’s spaces. Guiu also scored a hat-trick in injury time, deflecting Madueke’s cross with his head. The second half starts and Maresca’s team gets the ball rolling with Cucurella’s goal following an assist from Nkunku in the 58th minute. In the final there is room for rotations with many young players on the pitch. Chelsea closes on 18 points and is first, Shamrock Rovers remains on 10 and is tenth in the playoff round.
