a sentence attributed to Macron causes consternation

In the second episode of its investigation “The president and his double”, Le Monde reveals a sentence attributed to the President of the Republic which is already arousing strong reactions on the left.

“The problem with emergencies in this country is that it’s full of Mamadous.” This sentence, shocking to say the least, is attributed to Emmanuel Macron, according to the second episode of the explosive investigation of Monde entitled “The president and his double”. According to the evening daily, this sentence would have come out of the presidential mouth “one day in autumn 2023”, while Emmanuel Macron, his faithful secretary general of the presidency of the French Republic Alexis Kholer, in office since the arrival of head of state at the Élysée, and a certain Aurélien Rousseau met. Then Minister of Health, Aurélien Rousseau resigned with loss and fanfare a few months later following the adoption of the controversial… bill relating to immigration precisely. He has since joined the benches of the New Popular Front in the Assembly, on the Socialist Party-Public Square side.

This famous “autumn day 2023”, therefore, the three men tackle the thorny subject of the public hospital and state medical aid granted to foreigners in an irregular situation, “a subject of public health and safety” still defended the resigned Minister of Health Geneviève Darrieussecq in mid-October, but whom the right and the extreme right have wanted to remove for a long time. “The problem with emergencies in this country is that it’s full of Mamadous,” Emmanuel Macron would have said. Comments quickly nuanced by Aurélien Rousseau: “No, this is not the hospital’s first problem.” And the Head of State added: “Yes, yes. Go ahead, you’ll see!”

“It’s filthy,” reacted Thursday evening on “Our call for dismissal is on the table, those who are attached to the principles of the Republic must seize it,” she added. “Overwhelming” remarks for communist senator Ian Brossat, who deplores: “When we think that he owes his two elections to the Republican front…”

“As tongues loosen and Macron is abandoned by his own people, the racism of his presidency appears without makeup or artifice,” judges David Guiraud, also a rebellious MP. “These comments are unacceptable,” said LFI deputy Thomas Portes, before calling for the resignation of the head of state.
