ChatGPT available now on WhatsApp and by phone

Simply add the number 1-800-242-8478 to your contacts, then start a conversation by sending messages, to use the famous generative AI without an account and without going through its application or a web browser. OpenAI indicates that it is working on an option allowing users to connect to their account via WhatsApp, in particular to find their history. Note that Meta, parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has already deployed its own Meta AI chatbot on WhatsApp.

Alongside this launch, aimed at countries around the world in which ChatGPT is available, OpenAI is experimenting with a new approach allowing the service to be used in voice mode, even without an internet connection: via a phone call. This test, currently limited to users in the United States, allows you to converse directly with the generative AI by dialing the number 1-800-ChatGPT (1-800-242-8478). Each user in this country gets fifteen minutes of free voice calls per month, but this limit could change, says OpenAI, which recommends existing users to use ChatGPT through the usual channels and with their account “for a more complete experience with access to more features like search, higher limits and greater customization.
