Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025, but it looks like the OnePlus 13 wants to steal the spotlight. OnePlus has just confirmed that its new Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship will launch globally on January 7, 2025, ahead of Samsung’s next-generation flagship phones.
As the official website shows, all three colors of the OnePlus 13 that were available in China will arrive on the global market. This means that, at launch, the phone will be available in Midnight Ocean, Black Eclipse, and Arctic Dawn colors. Other than that, not much has been revealed on the international website.
There is no mention of the OnePlus 13R, but it is expected to launch alongside its Snapdragon 8 Elite sibling. To inform you, the 13R will be a budget sub-flagship and is expected to be a rebrand of the OnePlus Ace 5, which will launch in China later this month.
This upcoming OnePlus 13R is confirmed to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but the company recently revealed that the SoC has received an exclusive tuning and will be paired with a large VC vC cooler. The changes made will reportedly make the budget sub-flagship offer better performance than other phones with the same SoC.
Returning to OnePlus 13, it is not yet known what the starting price will be. However, it is worth noting that the Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship phone has undergone a slight price increase in the Chinese market. The predecessor launched at $799.99 and, considering this, it is possible that the global price of the next device could start at around $849.99 (128GB Pixel 9 currently $614.94 on Amazon).
