Miss 2025: “A breakup led me to depression”

It is a story of resilience and courage that led Angélique Angarni-Filopon, 34, to the title of Miss 2025. On December 14, under the spotlights of Futuroscope in , this Martinican burst into tears at the announcement of his coronation, symbol of revenge for years of personal tumult. This victory is not just a consecration for her, but a life lesson.

Before going on stage, Angélique Angarni-Filopon still carried within her the after-effects of a painful romantic separation. “A breakup led me to what we hate the most, depression,” she confided in an interview with “Parisien”. She speaks frankly about this dark period where sadness was omnipresent: “I felt that I was sad every day and that I had to change.”

It was in , her native land, that she found the strength to rebuild herself. During a trip to Fort-de-France, she felt “obvious”, that of reconnecting with her roots to move forward.

This healing process also brought her back to her lifelong passion: the Miss France competition. Thirteen years after being elected first runner-up to Miss Martinique, Angélique felt ready to compete again, with new maturity and unwavering determination.

This victory is also a triumph over stereotypes. Aged 34, Angélique Angarni-Filopon becomes the oldest Miss France, thanks to the recent lifting of the age limit by the committee. She laughs lightly: “I’m constantly reminded of my age, I think I’m well preserved. But 34 is young!”

Her coronation represents not only a personal achievement, but also a source of inspiration for all those going through difficult times.
