“I learned it, like all of you, on Friday the 13th at 10 p.m.”assures Antoine Audi. The leader of the opposition, and former right-wing mayor of Périgueux beaten by Delphine Labail in 2020, reacted on France Blue Périgord Saturday December 14, a few hours later the announcement of the withdrawal from the mayor of Périgueux : “It’s a first in Périgueux but not entirely a surprise.”
Delphine Labails announced Friday in a press release sent in the evening that she is withdrawing from all her mandates to “several weeks”because of“professional burnout” which endangers “his health” et “his family”.
“She exhausted herself by making her mandate a political fight”
“The first thing I want to say is that this press release shows certain suffering. My first words are to tell Delphine Labail to take care of herself and find serenity”says Antoine Audi.
But the former mayor of Périgueux goes on to point out the “errors” according to him from the mayor of Périgueux: “We always feel that she is in a permanent battle, and I think thatshe probably exhausted herself making her mandate as mayor of all Périgourdins a political fight. I think that’s one of his mistakes.”
A “severe” audit for the town hall
Antoine Audi says he asked during the last municipal council 10 days ago the results of an audit commissioned by the municipal team on the governance of the town hall. Antoine Audi says to himself “convinced” that this is one of the causes of Delphine Labail's withdrawal.
“This organizational audit, ordered behind the backs of Périgourdins and without informing the municipal council, I know he is strict on the governance of town hall. I also know that the departures of town hall staff, sick leave, are much more numerous than during my mandate, which constitutes a strong presumption of psychosocial risks at the town hall of Périgueux. Yes, there are subjects.”
The former mayor of Périgueux acknowledges not having had access to the content of this auditbut intends to request access to it at the next municipal council next Wednesday: “This audit costing some €40,000 was paid for by the Périgourdins.” A municipal council during which he will face Emeric Lavitola, the first deputy who now takes the reins of the town hall during the absence of Delphine Labail.
