between 80 and 100 tractors and around a hundred demonstrators

This Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m., several dozen farmers from Côte-d'Or met in the Zénith de parking lot, with several tractors. The event is organized at the initiative of the Departmental Federation of Farmers' Unions of Côte-d'Or (FDSEA 21) and the Young Farmers of Côte-d'Or (JA 21).

The participants intend to join the prefecture of Côte-d'Or, in order to be able to speak with the prefect Paul Mourier, and to address, with him, their problems, including their anger still intact in the face of the free trade agreement -exchange between the European Union (EU) and Mercosur (Mercado Común del Sur).

Have a meeting with local deputies who voted for the motion of censure

According to our information, the farmers also expect the prefect to organize a meeting between the local deputies who voted for the motion of censure, and them.

As a reminder, Monday evening, farmers from FDSEA 21 and JA 21 degraded and walled up the offices of Côte-d'Oriens deputies Océane Godard, Pierre Pribetich, Catherine Hervieu and René Lioret. They precisely criticized the three elected representatives of the New Popular Front for having voted for the motion of censure against the Barnier government.

Shortly before 11 a.m., they were at the Avenue de Langres stop. The artery found itself blocked between the ring road and the Toison towards the city center.

The prefecture, “the only symbol of the State that we currently have”

Between 80 and 100 tractors, and around a hundred demonstrators are present, according to Yannick Salomon, secretary general of the Young Farmers of Côte-d'Or. The main objective is the prefecture, “the only symbol of the State that we currently have”.
