Ultimately, Samsung’s two-fold smartphone would not arrive before 2026

A few weeks ago, a patent deployed by Samsung revealed that the firm was working on a three-part foldable model, thus coming in second position on such technology, after Huawei and its Mate XT released a little earlier this year in China. Thus, despite disappointing sales for foldable models, the technology still seems to interest Samsung, which is also working in parallel on a foldable screen dedicated to gaming.

Finally, we would have to wait for a little more than a year

Following this news, the South Korean publication ET News announced that Samsung could release its three-part foldable model as early as next year, in 2025. And now additional sources are giving contradictory information today: the very reliable Analyst Ross Young announced on X (Twitter) that this model would not ultimately arrive before the start of 2026.

If all the information about this three-fold model is confirmed in the future, this slightly later marketing can be explained quite simply. Samsung would indeed try to use new technologies for this model: in addition to having a two-fold screen, this new smartphone would also use a foldable battery, a first on the market. Obviously, such tools require a lot of testing, and potentially more complicated production. A postponement to the beginning of 2026 then seems entirely logical to determine the quality of the technologies used before commercialization.
